Courses and Workshops
EcoCore facilitates in a number of workshops, short-courses and academic courses, by providing lab space for sample preparation in lab components, as well as introductions and access to instruments and lab equipment.
Examples include:
- Intensive short-courses and workshops (e.g. The Summer Soil Institute)
- Support in academic courses at Colorado State University (e.g. SOCR670: Terrestrial Ecosystem Isotope Ecology; SOCR441: Soil Ecology)
- Research opportunities for undergraduates and K-12 teachers
EcoCore will play a critical role in facilitating a new 2-semester undergraduate research program at the NREL (SUPER: Skills for Undergraduate Participation in Ecological Research), which will offer undergraduates the opportunity to learn about scientific research from teams of experienced scientists and to join a research group at the NREL.
EcoCore will also facilitate the analytical component of a professional short course on GHG accounting and verification from agricultural and forest offset projects, provided through the GHG-ACT training center.
